Archery is the skill that allows the player to use bows and crossbows (In Dawnguard) effectively. The higher your skill at Archery, the more damage done in every shot.

There are total of nine perks, requiring 16 perk points.

| Overdraw (5 levels) | 0/20/40/60/80 | Bows do 20/40/60/80/100% more damage. | |
| Critical Shot | 30/60/90 | Overdraw | 10%/15%/20% chance of a critical hit that does extra damage. |
| Hunter's Discipline | 50 | Critical Shot | Recover twice as many arrows from dead bodies. |
| Ranger | 60 | Hunter's Discipline | Able to move faster with a drawn bow. |
| Eagle Eye | 30 | Overdraw | Pressing Block while aiming will zoom in your view. |
| Power Shot | 50 | Eagle Eye | Arrows stagger all but the largest opponents 50% of the time. |
| Quick Shot | 70 | Power Shot | Can draw a bow 30% faster. |
| Bullseye | 100 | Ranger or Quick Shot | 15% chance of paralyzing the target for a few seconds. |
| Steady Hand | 40/60 | Eagle Eye | Zooming in with a bow slows time by 25%/50%. |

You can level up Archery the conventional way but there are other methods of doing it.

The following Races give a boost in Archery:
Bosmer +10 Khajiit, Redguard +5

Each of these increase your Archery skill by one:
- Father Of The Niben
- The Black Arrow, v2
- The Gold Ribbon of Merit
- The Marksmanship Lesson
- Vernaccus and Bourlor
[edit] Skill Trainers
There are several trainers around Skyrim that will increase your Archery skill, some better than others.
- Faendal in Riverwood (Common)
- Aela the Huntress of the Companions in *Whiterun (Expert)
- Niruin in the Thieves Guild of Riften (Master)
