Solitude

The port city of Solitude lies to Skyrim's northwest, near Haafingar and the Sea of Ghosts. Despite its name, Solitude is hardly unhabitated; it is the capital city of Skyrim, and serves as an important trade center shipping timber and fish commodities to other ports throughout Tamriel.

It has a strong Imperial influence, and is also home to the Bard's College which trains professional poets/rogues.
